“The Grand Theatre, Doncaster was built by local builders, Arnold & Sons, to the designs of the architect J. P. Briggs and Chapman and opened on Monday the 27th of March 1899 with a production of “La Poupee,” which was a transfer from the Prince of Wales Theatre in London. Converted into a bingo hall in the late 1960’s. The theatre has been Grade II listed since 1994.”
