History
The coal power station in Hungary was established in 1898, playing a key role in the country’s electrification and industrialisation. Over the years, it underwent several upgrades to improve its capacity and efficiency. However, due to environmental concerns and a shift towards sustainable energy, the plant was eventually decommissioned. Today, the site stands as a reminder of Hungary’s transition from coal-based power to cleaner energy sources.
