Puits Simon which translates to Simon Shaft in English, located in Forbach, France, was a coal mining site established in the early 20th century. It played a significant role in the industrial development of the Lorraine region. Over time, the site expanded with multiple coal extraction shafts. However, like many coal mines in the region, Puits Simon faced economic challenges and eventually closed in the late 20th century due to depleted coal reserves and changing economic conditions.
